Hooked on Squidoo
I’ve slipped a little this week getting this post out. Honestly, I’ve been cheating on my blog readers (whoever that may be) with another website, Squidoo.com. If you’re not familiar with Squidoo, it’s a new take on the traditional blog. Instead of just posting new blogs each day, you can provide users with useful information, links to products, ebay auctions, cafe press items, iTunes songs and albums and a crapload more stuff. On top of that, you can probably build a lens in about an hour if you’re dedicated (Lens is the Squidoo term for blog or page, but that’s generalizing). My first Lens took me a bit longer than an hour, but that’s due to all the writing and photography I posted. Check it out and tell me what you think.
Once I started looking at what other people were making lenses about, I decided to improve my first and start another. My second lens is entitled How to Photograph Cars in an attempt to help all those proud car freaks take their novice photography skills to the next level. If you’re a fan of photography and cars, you should take a look. I’m still adding to this one, but there’s some great info up there already.
Some people focus their lenses on closely related subjects. I, on the other hand, have completely random thoughts and interests and that becomes evident with my third lens. Not much there yet, but it’s an homage to VANS, the greatest shoe ever made, in my opinion. Not sure where I would be without VANS. My mom bought my first pair nearly 30 years ago and I’ve been wearing them ever since.
In keeping with my complete randomness, I’ve got plans for all kinds of crazy lenses. Just have to figure out which one to write next. You know me. What do you think I should write about?
